Adam Steensberg was appointed CEO of Zealand Pharma in March 2022 and has led a significant transformation of the business and period of growth for the company. Prior to being appointed CEO, Adam served for several years as Zealand’s Chief Medical Officer and Head of Research & Development and was responsible for the company’s R&D strategy and portfolio of drug candidates. Adam’s career spans both the private and public sectors, including time as Medical Director at Novo Nordisk and as a clinician at Rigshospitalet, University of Copenhagen. Adam is a certified medical doctor and holds a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree (D.M.Sc./dr.med.) from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and an MBA from IMD, Switzerland. Additionally, he has published more than 45 peer-reviewed scientific papers in renowned international journals. Adam serves as a Board Member of DANISH BIO – DANSK BIOTEK.
