Keith Isaacson, MD

Dr. Keith B. Isaacson is the Medical Director of the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Center and Associate Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. A pioneer in the field of endometriosis treatment, Dr. Isaacson has dedicated his career to alleviating endometriosis pain and restoring fertility for countless patients since 1987. His research interests focus on the pathophysiology of endometriosis, with an emphasis on understanding the mechanisms responsible for pain and infertility. Through interdisciplinary collaboration with experts from MIT and Draper National Labs, Dr. Isaacson has developed innovative surgical techniques and technologies, including the first bipolar RF hysteroscope and the “operating room of the future,” both of which have become standard practices worldwide.

Dr. Isaacson earned his M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, LA, and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Isaacson is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is fellowship trained in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He has served as president of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons (SRS) and president of the American Association of Gynecologic Surgeons (AAGL). In 2013, he was the recipient of the Distinguished Surgeon Award from the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.

His work continues to have a profound impact on the field of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and infertility treatment.
